Consent and Respectful Relationships module

The Consent and Respectful Relationships module features practical strategies, meaningful scenarios, relevant video content and opportunities for reflection and commitment. Overall,Ìýthis module aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to establish and maintain healthy relationships built on mutual respect, open communication, and informed consent.

Content warning:ÌýThe course covers important information for everyone, regardless of gender, sexuality, or existing knowledge on the topic.ÌýIt containsÌýdiscussion about relationships, dating, and sex. There will be mention of sexual harassment and sexual assault, including definitions and some examples of these behaviours.

Who needs to complete Consent and Respectful Relationships

Consent and Respectful Relationships is mandatory for all undergraduate and postgraduate students as part of South ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlogn Universities’ commitment to a safer campus culture. All new students will be automatically enrolled into this module as part of their admission to the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide.Ìý

There is no pass mark for this module, and you only need to complete the module once. Exemptions are available under specific circumstances. A certificate of completion can be downloaded as you finish this module (please retain an electronic copy as this certificate is recognised by the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of South ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog, ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide, and Flinders ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog).

Exemptions are available under specific circumstances. Once your exemption request is submitted, you will be notified within 3-5 business days with the outcome of your request.

Accessing Consent and Respectful Relationships

All commencing students are automatically enrolled into the Consent and Respectful Relationships module in the MyUni system. Consent and Respectful Relationships take approximately 45 minutes to complete.ÌýYou can exit and return to the place you exited from at any time. To complete, you need to:

    When do I need to complete this module by?

    If you are a coursework student, you are required to complete this module by the end of their first study period. If you are an HDR student, you are required to complete this module within the first 3 months of your research.Ìý

    What happens if I don’t complete the course by the deadline?

    If you do not complete the module by the end of your first study period, you may be subject to penalties against your student account.Ìý

To demonstrate our commitment to this, The ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide has made the decision to mandate the completion of this module for all commencing students from Semester 1, 2024.
