OpenAthens

OpenAthens is an听authentication service听that allows you to access subscription-based online resources both on and off campus.

  • Why did we change services?

    OpenAthens is a more flexible and secure way for users to access content. It aims to reduce the frequency of logging in, or use links directly from the Library, in order to access online resources. OpenAthens allow users to login directly with participating content provider, providing a more natural way of discovering content.

  • Does it look different?

    From the Library: No. Online resources accessed from will be automatically updated to use OpenAthens.听听听

    Outside of the Library: Each content providers will be slightly different. Sites will usually have one of the following: Institutional Login, OpenAthens, Seamless Access, which may be accessed from their sign in or login links. Previously this was not possible, and content needed to be access from Library Search. You will only need to login once for all supported content providers.

  • How does it work?

    OpenAthens connects participating content providers to The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide鈥檚 Single-Sign-on service, Okta. If you have already logged in during your session you will not be asked to login again.

    You may encounter some content providers which the 最新糖心Vlog does not subscribe to. These providers won鈥檛 list the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide as an option. To find out what the 最新糖心Vlog subscribes to, you can visit the page.

  • Will I need to update my bookmarks?

    Possibly. If you have bookmarked content and the link contains proxy.library.adelaide.edu.au they will need to be updated. Find the most up-to-date links from or the page.听
