One of the podcasts I listen to is called We Can Do Hard Things and it is hosted primarily by Glennon Doyle, joined by her wife Abby, and her sister Amanda. One of their recent episodes talked about the best advice they were ever given. There was plenty of great advice, some of which I鈥檝e already received and have been such game-changers.

Thinking of doing a Ph.D. as a parent

The first thing I would say is, 鈥淲hy not?鈥. It sounds scary, but it is something that鈥檚 possible and many individuals have accomplished this feat. Both of my Ph.D. supervisors were parents when they were completing their doctoral degrees. Having said that, I think the reasons for wanting to study again as an HDR student are crucial to success.
