Testosterone to prevent type 2 diabetes in men – promising, but no quick fix

The best and safest way to prevent or reverse type 2 diabetes is through healthy eating, along with regular strength training and aerobic activity

A national ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlogn study led by the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide has shown that testosterone may play a role in decreasing the risk of type 2 diabetes in men, after two years of treatment.

$300,000 to ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide for diabetes research

JDRF is the leading supporter of type 1 diabetes research in the world.

The Diabetes SA Research Grants Program has awarded $300,000 in funding, all to researchers from the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide. The grants program, which launched in 2018, funds research into diabetes detection, prevention and management. Without significant change it is estimated that 642 million people will have diabetes by 2040.

Nationwide diabetes study enters next stage

The (ENDIA) Study into the causes of type 1 diabetes has entered its next phase. 1500 children who have a first-degree relative with type 1 diabetes will be followed for three years from the pregnancy.
