$300,000 to 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide for diabetes research
The Diabetes SA Research Grants Program has awarded $300,000 in funding, all to researchers from the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide.
The grants program, which launched in 2018, funds research into diabetes detection, prevention and management.
Worldwide, there are 415 million people living with diabetes and it is the fastest growing chronic health condition in the world today. Without significant change it is estimated that 642 million people will have diabetes by 2040.
The Diabetes SA Research Grants Program recipients each receive $100,000. They are:
鈥⑻ 听Dr Megan Penno听鈥 for deep profiling for early biomarkers of progression to islet autoimmunity and type 1 diabetes in mother-infant dads听participating in the ENDIA study 鈥 a collaboration between the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide, Women鈥檚 and Children鈥檚 Hospital and the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research.
Dr David Jesudason听鈥 for addressing life threatening ketoacidosis associated with sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors and key antidiabetic medicines. The research is a collaboration between the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
鈥⑻ 听Dr Cher-Rin Chong听鈥 for a novel strategy for cardiovascular protection in type 2 diabetes. The research is a collaboration between the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide, Basil Hetzel Institute for Translational Health Research and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Diabetes SA Chief Executive Officer, Angelique Pasalidis says the three 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide researchers were selected by an esteemed panel of diabetes experts to receive $100,000 each for their diabetes research projects.
