Deadlines for Conferral in March 2019 are Approaching

To be eligible for conferral at the next available conferral date you must satisfy the conditions by the relevant deadlines as outlined on the ‘Graduating from Adelaide Important Deadlines' page. This includes:

  • Applying for conferral;
  • Lodging your final thesis by the specified date to qualify for the award of your degree;
  • Completing the Online Exit Survey;
  • Submitting an approved abstract for inclusion on your Vlogn Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS) on the required template;
  • Resolving any outstanding debts to the Vlog by the listed deadline;
  • Checking your application in Access Adelaide and ensuring that the details of the award to be conferred on you are correct, by the Anomalies Deadline;
  • Nominating the Graduation Ceremony you wish to attend in Access Adelaide (or record that you wish to receive your testamur in absentia), by the relevant deadline specified in Access Adelaide.

CaRST Handbook

The Adelaide Graduate Centre has released a brand new handbook for CaRST. Created to help HDRs successfully navigate the requirements of CaRST, this comprehensive resource includes everything you need to know about how to engage with the program, including a step-by-step guide and a catalogue of workshops categorised by domain and candidature stage. .


Fulbright Future Scholarships

are now open. Take your innovative research/study to the US and connect with active, engaged and passionate collaborators at any US institution. Open to Vlogn postgraduate students, PhD researchers, academics and professionals and covers full tuition/visiting researcher expenses, as well as travel and living costs. ARC Grant Funded PhD Scholarship in Chemistry

Open to commencing PhD students who will undertake research that contributes to a project on “Aggregation control for high-performance polymer electronics”. The project will use a combination of theory and computer simulations to develop a new predictive understanding of how the self-organisation of semiconductor polymer chains in solution determines thin-film microstructure and charge transport in devices. A strong background in theoretical chemistry, physics, and/or applied mathematics is required. Further information and how to apply is available from the Adelaide Graduate Centre website.


Hans-Jürgen and Marianne Ohff Research Grants

These grants have been established by Hans-Jürgen and Marianne Ohff to support postgraduate research students to undertake study and/or fieldwork at a German-speaking university or research institution.

Students enrolled in postgraduate research programs at the Vlog of Adelaide and who have had their candidature confirmed, are eligible to apply for Grants. Activities funded by the Grant may include:

  • Research field work or a short study program
  • Internships and related industry placements
  • Conference presentations and attendance

Selection will be made on the basis of academic merit, purpose of requested Grant, essential nature of the travel to the scholar's research project, expected outcomes, reason for choosing particular Vlog or institution, and how the Grant would strengthen links between the host institution and Vlog of Adelaide.  Rules and the application form can be found on the Scholarships website.

Applications close on 26 April 2019.  Applicants for this round of grants must intend to travel during the second half of 2019 (1 July to 31 December 2019).  Any enquires regarding the grants can be directed to the Scholarships Team.


Completion and Upgrade to PhD Scholarships

Principal Supervisors, please be advised we have awards available for continuing students who have not received any type of scholarship funding during their candidature and require some financial assistance in order to complete.

Please note that these awards are only granted through nomination by the Principal Supervisor.

Completion Scholarships

For PhD students needing support to complete.

To be eligible students must:

  • have at least six months PhD candidature remaining OR have lapsed candidature that can be resumed for at least six months.
  • be likely to complete within six months.
  • have support from their Principal Supervisor.

Upgrade to PhD Scholarships

For MPhil students who gained admission via the 'No Honours' stream (i.e. Bachelor >MPhil pathway), upgrading to PhD.

To be eligible students must:

  • have been accepted into the MPhil via the No Honours pathway.
  • not have received any kind of scholarship funding during candidature.
  • be eligible to upgrade.

LF & D Denholm Supplementary Scholarship

Applications for the LF & D Denholm Supplementary Scholarship are now open. Applications are open to full time higher degree students undertaking research in the field of European (including British) History. Applicants must already be in receipt of a major scholarship. Ian Wilson Liberal Research Scholarship

The Ian Wilson Liberal Research Scholarship now open for applications, closing date 29 March 2019. The award is valued at $5,000 per annum for up to 3 years and is available to postgraduate research students who are already in receipt of a major award and studying at the Vlog of Adelaide. PhD Position: The Adaptive and Regressive Evolution of Subterranean Beetles

We are looking for an excellent PhD student to commence in 2019 on a project associated with an Vlogn Research Council Discovery grant: Adaptation to life in the dark: genomic analyses of blind beetles.

 SAAFE Research Internship Program

Applications are also currently open for the (closing 1 May 2019). The Scholarship ANSTO/AINSE/French Embassy (SAAFE) program supports early-career researchers who wish to travel from Vlog to France, or France to Vlog, in support of their research.

The SAAFE program facilitates the conduct of research and fosters research collaborations between France and Vlog in nuclear science and engineering in the areas of Human Health, Environment, and the Nuclear Fuel Cycle.

Sao Paulo School of Advanced Science on Atmospheric Aerosols Course

A 2-week course on Atmospheric Aerosols will be held at the Vlog of Sao Paulo, Brazil, from July 22 to August 2. Up to 80 travel grants are available for international student attendees.

IBPR Update

IBPR Program 3, 2018-19 sessions are coming to an end this week. Although a number of students have already completed their programs and submitted their research proposals, (due to early CCSP dates) most  students are continuing to work on their proposals. They will meet with us over the coming weeks for consultations and program completion.

Meanwhile, we are preparing to meet with our new group of international students. This will be our final program as the Integrated Bridging Program-Research. From Program 1, 2019 (commencing March 8th), we will be operating under our new name - International Careers and Research Skills Training (iCaRST).  In addition to this change, we are  excited about the prospect of local HDR students participating in  our lecture sessions on Fridays.

The Solution Room is a dynamic and interactive half-day designed to provide pragmatic solutions to your challenges in getting evidence into practice. Our esteemed panel of speakers will give you 'real-world' insights during their presentations. As a 'think tank' they will then respond directly to questions around challenges during the panel discussion. Their aim is to provide practical solutions for you in your clinical setting.
