Supporting students during COVID-19
Within weeks of the COVID-19 outbreak in South ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog, and the subsequent restrictions immediately affecting study and employment, the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog received countless emails from students who did not know how they were going to continue to study and afford basic living and housing expenses.
World-first COVID-19 research to drive treatment and vaccine
Thanks  to a generous donation from Mr Ian Wall AM (BE 1955) and Mrs Pamela Wall OAM, the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide is playing a major role in the investigation into COVID-19 immunity and an international vaccine study.Â

Research gives new insight into Alzheimer’s disease
Research into Alzheimer’s disease, one of the leading causes of disability and death in ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlogns aged 65 years or older, has achieved an important breakthrough thanks to ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide researchers – and long-term donors, the Carthew Foundation. Â

Sisters united in honouring their father’s legacy
Donald Alexander AM (B E (Civil) 1951), who died in 2015, was a leader in water engineering in South ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog for four decades. He led the Engineering and Water Supply Department; served as the Murray Darling Basin Commissioner; worked as Director of the Lands Department; and Chaired the State Capital Works Committee. Don had a strong belief that education had the power to solve society’s problems.  Â

Alice's story
Thanks to the Don Alexander Scholarship, Alice Miller has been able to focus on her studies and dedicate more time to her passion – encouraging young women into STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).Â

Alumnus, practicing Occupational Therapist and Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, Dr Mark Thompson (Master Public Health 2013, PhD 2020), wants South ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog to be a place that nurtures talent.Â

In a relationship which has spanned nearly six decades, funding from the NeuroSurgical Research Foundation (NRF) has been instrumental to the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog delivering significant research findings and improving health outcomes and quality of life for thousands of people.Â
