Alice's story
Thanks to the Don Alexander Scholarship, Alice Miller has been able to focus on her studies and dedicate more time to her passion 鈥 encouraging young women into STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).听
Currently in her second year of study, Alice volunteers on both听the Women in STEM Society (WISTEMS) and the Robogals committee (an international student run organisation that aims to inspire and empower young women to consider studying engineering and related fields), at the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide.听
鈥淏oth groups run outreach programs in schools, including robotics and coding workshops, and听share听the history and experiences of women in STEM,鈥 Alice said.

鈥淭his year, instead of in-person outreach, in partnership with the Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences (ECMS) and the Women in STEM Society, I have worked as an Outreach Officer with a small group to create a magazine which was released to 300 students at the Young Women in STEM Day in May.鈥
I was humbled by the generosity of the Alexander family and honoured to be chosen as the first student to receive this scholarship. Environmental Engineering is so important for a听sustainable future, so I was excited there was a scholarship available specifically for the degree.Alice Miller
Each year, with our loyal donors鈥 support, the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide can continue to invest in our students, researchers and programs.
