  • Is there any cost for this program? How many classes can I attend?

No, participating in this program is totally free. You can attend one class, two, or ten! Come and try as many sessions as you'd like. After attending each session, you are eligible for a free hot drink.

  • I have never tried pilates/boxing/zumba - are these sessions appropriate for me to attend?

Absolutely. This program is aimed at students who have little to no experience with group fitness. Trying new forms of movement can be intimidating, and this program is designed to be a safe, fun and judgement free way for students to gain confidence with group fitness.Ìý

  • What do I wear? Do I need to bring anything?

The priority when choosing what to wear is making sure you feel comfortable and confident - ideally clothing that does not restrict your movement or distract you so you can focus on the class. We don't expect anyone to buy new gym clothes or be wearing the latest matching sets - this is a program aimed at beginners. The only rule is that you are comfortable!

If you have long hair, tie it back in a bun or ponytail so it does not get in the way. We suggest minimising jewellery so it does not get caught on anything.Ìý

On the day, all you need to bring is yourself, a water bottle and a gym/sweat towel.Ìý
We recommend the towel because movement can get sweaty. Having something to dry off or wipe sweat off your face can be beneficial.Ìý
A water bottle is always a good idea, because it's important to stay hydrated. If you forget either of these things, don't fret! You can still attend the class.Ìý

  • Where are the classes held?

All classes are held in the Union Building, at the North Terrace Campus. They will either be at the new Fitness Hub, on level 4 or level 1 of the George Murry building. Keep an eye out for 'schedule of classes' on this page which lists the exact locations for each class.Ìý

  • Why are classes mainly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays?

This program was informed by the views and preferences of current ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide students. We asked students when they were most likely to attend classes, what kind of incentives they would like to see and what forms of movement they were most interested in. The feedback we received indicated that Tuesdays and Wednesdays at lunch, and in the afternoon were most preferred.Ìý

  • How do I get my free coffee or hot drink?

We know that social networks can help support student to exercise. That's why we are providing a free coffee or hot drink to participants at the end of each session. Come and debrief after your sweat session at the Unibar, where you can get a free tea or coffee with your new mates.Ìý
