A journey in working from home: the great collapse

Here I am once again. I crash, I put it together again and have a solid run for a bit, then I crash again. That鈥檚 just how it goes.

It takes me quite a while to get into the swing of things, so having my situation change so dramatically due to COVID-19 was always likely to end in disaster, and it has.听Four assignments, over 8,000 words, two days. Of course I can鈥檛 blame this all on the Corona virus, it also comes down to motivation and planning, but being at home seems to have made all my time blend together.

You may be wondering why I鈥檓 writing this if I鈥檝e got so much work to do, well I should clarify that I鈥檝e actually managed to submit all of them. It cost me though. The reason I鈥檓 still talking about collapse even though I pulled through is that the stress from those two days has totally wiped me out. Now I鈥檓 struggling to find the will to do anything. Not a great way to start the second half of semester one.

So the crash has happened, and now it鈥檚 time to pull things together. Last semester I was AHEAD for once and it was great. I鈥檓 going to do all that I can to get back to that point. I thought it might be of interest for you to follow my journey in working from home, as I struggle against my procrasti-nature and figure out my routine for these interesting times. Along the way I鈥檓 hoping to find some really clever tricks for dealing with isolation, motivation and relaxation.
