Become an Invigilator

Become part of our pool of invigilators for exams conducted by the Examination & Results Office in June and November annually. The role of an invigilator is to supervise and assist candidates in exams conducted throughout the year at various examination locations.
Applications to become an invigilator open seasonally each year. Expressions of interest open and are assessed during these periods each year, so please continue to monitor the website to register your interest.
Prospective Invigilators should read the information available below carefully before expressing an interest to obtain an overview of the responsibilities and expectations of the role.
- On-the-job training provided.
- Attention to detail is most important.
- Peruse rows of candidates and respond to requests.
- Watch for suspected academic misconduct.
- Approximately $30 per hour.

Exam Periods
- Primary exams are held in late June and early November.
- Alternative exams are held on our North Terrace & Roseworthy campuses, for students with additional requirements.
- External exams are held on our North Terrace campus throughout the year.

Availability
- Availability for main periods is generally requested in May and October.
- Rosters will be generated prior to exams commencing.
- Car parking permits required for certain exam locations will be provided.

Training
- May and October Invigilator briefing on campus with latest updates and an opportunity to meet other staff in the team.
- On-the-job training provided by Invigilator Trainers.
- Allow 3 sessions for initial on-the-job training in the first exam period.

Performance
- Trainee invigilators聽are assessed by the senior staff during their initial training and will be advised if they are to be added to the pool of examination invigilators.
- If unavailable for consecutive exam periods, you may be removed from the invigilator pool.聽

Communication
All communication will be via electronic means. All invigilators are required to have regular access to email.

- Flexible approach to work and open to change/development.
- Ability to work as a part of a large developing team, and to take direction from relevant staff.
- Experience/comfortable with technology and/or willingness to learn.
- Administrative experience and ability to accurately execute detailed procedures.
- Ability to deliver a customer service focus in a fast-paced environment.

- Most of the staff are rostered to supervise and assist candidates in exams.
- Some senior staff members are appointed additional roles.
- With experience, comes the opportunity for different tasks.
Current UOA students
Students who are currently enrolled at the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide and are undertaking coursework are ineligible to apply to become an invigilator.
