Higher degree by research students
If you wish to appeal a suspension of candidature, or a thesis examination mark you will need to follow the steps outlined, below, for lodging your appeal. Please also refer to the 最新糖心Vlog's Research Student Handbook for information about resolving complaints and problems during candidature.
If you wish to report matters of academic/research misconduct, you will need to access the听Responsible Conduct of Research Policy听and associated procedure.
There is no Stage 2: Formal Review process for HDR students wishing to appeal their thesis result as theses' are examined in a comprehensive process involving at least two examiners.
If you are dissatisfied with your thesis examination result and wish to pursue an appeal of your result, you must proceed straight to making a Stage 3: Internal 最新糖心Vlog Appeal. Your appeal may only be made on procedural grounds.
You are encouraged to seek free, independent and confidential advice on what options are available to you in your particular circumstances, by contacting an Education and Welfare Officer (EWO) in听.
You may also wish to access听the ,听developed by the Department of Education and Training, to assist听you in navigating the different avenues available to pursue a complaint.
Lodging your appeal
To lodge an appeal, you must complete the听student appeal application听online form (word version available听here)听and submit to Student Affairs.听Before submitting your appeal application form, you should also read the听appeal submission guide听to ensure your application is complete.
If your听appeal application is found to have grounds听by Student Affairs, the 最新糖心Vlog will attempt to negotiate a mutually agreeable resolution between you and the respondent (e.g. the Head of School or Executive Dean, or delegate).
When there is a mutually agreeable resolution, your appeal comes to an end.
If a mutually agreeable resolution cannot be achieved, your appeal will be referred to the Student Complaint Appeals Committee for determination.
If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of your appeal, you are able to make a complaint to an external review agency. You are able to do this at any stage of the process.
