I am honoured to join the Academic Integrity Ambassador team and contribute to fostering a fair, honest, and transparent academic environment at the university. In the digital age, where new technologies can sometimes facilitate academic misconduct, upholding academic integrity is more critical than ever for students’ academic success.
As an international student, I invested significant time in understanding the principles of academic integrity. Now, I look forward to supporting new students in efficiently learning these principles and developing the skills needed to avoid academic misconduct. I strive to uphold all the principles of academic integrity and to actively foster them within the university community.

I'm excited about being an academic integrity ambassador because I believe in creating a culture where honesty and integrity are valued. Instead of just talking about the consequences of cheating, I want to show students how to avoid it. By organizing workshops on paraphrasing and referencing, I hope to give them practical skills for writing papers ethically.
My goal is to help students see that academic integrity isn't just about following rules, it's about respecting the work of others and being proud of their own. When students understand why honesty matters in their academic journey, they're more likely to make ethical choices.
Ultimately, I want to be part of building a community where everyone feels confident in their abilities and proud of their accomplishments, knowing they achieved them the right way. By promoting integrity, I hope to create an environment where learning flourishes and everyone has a fair chance to succeed.

As an international student, I have experienced the challenges of adapting to a new academic environment and this is why I am keen to join the Academic Integrity Ambassador Program at the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide. Academic integrity is an important aspect of our educational journey, and it’s essential to understand and follow these principles not only at university but also in our professional lives. I am passionate about helping my peers navigate these challenges, especially those who might be unfamiliar with local academic standards. Through engaging and interactive activities, I aim to promote a culture of integrity that enhances our academic community. By providing education on tools like Turnitin and the importance of honesty in our work, I hope to make the transition smoother for international students and ensure everyone is equipped to maintain high academic standards. Together, we can foster an environment where integrity is a shared value, and every student has the resources to succeed.

As an international student, I know firsthand the challenges of navigating a new academic ecosystem. That's why I'm thrilled to be an Academic Integrity Ambassador! Academic integrity is a territory that we could overlook without actually understanding its importance, whether it be at the university level or something that we should be practicing at our jobs too. Through collaboration and gamified activities that the program intends to bring throughout the year, it would be very interesting to foster a culture of integrity while enhancing our own selves.Ìý

As someone who likes to build connections and share experiences of my academic journey with my co-mates, I am so thrilled to be the part of the Academic Integrity Ambassador Program at the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide. When I was new to the university, I faced numerous challenges during my coursework, particularly with understanding how to approach assignments while adhering to academic integrity principles. My aim is to combat this issue and help my peers to leverage tools like Turnitin and thereby introducing more support mechanisms to create an interactive environment and making academic integrity fun. I aim to make academic integrity something to embrace rather than fear, fostering a unified culture where every student can hold their head high, proud to be part of a community that values honesty and respect and be proud of what their university stands for. By becoming an academic integrity ambassador I aim to help students to feel confident in their own honest work and thereby attain good grades from their own hard work and authentic self. I believe in building culture of support where students will not hesitate to come for help or clarification and to ask questions. The program presents a good opportunity for making a change as well as creating good relationships within the university life for my fellow students.

I joined the Academic Integrity Ambassador program because I want to raise awareness on the importance of upholding integrity in the work that we do in uni. As a student who has struggled a lot with her essays and gradually improved herself with hard work, I understand how difficult, yet rewarding it is to truly experience the learning process of essay writing. Many students are misguided into thinking that seeking shortcuts to obtain good grades is beneficial, when it actually does not improve one's skills at the end of their degree. When one learns to write effectively, academic integrity seamlessly becomes a part of one's studies, without having to put extraÌýeffort into avoiding plagiarism.ÌýI am very excitedÌýto be a part of this esteemed program and looking forward to educating others,Ìýgrowing as a person as well as working with the talented team.

Academic Integrity is increasingly important in a day and age where technology can make it so easy to bypass. The importance of finding new ways to uphold Academic Integrity with emerging technology, including Al, is something that interests me greatly. I hope to work towards inspiring fellow students to reap the rewards of cultivating the ability to harness unique perspectives and creativity rather than taking the easy way out. There is a freedom and pride in furthering your own way of thinking, without being restricted by the thought patterns of others or an algorithm. I value student engagement, so I’m looking forward to developing new ideas for events that will help educate about the importance of Academic Integrity and the impact it can have as you develop your place in your chosen profession.

I applied to be an Academic Integrity Ambassador because I want to help foster a culture of Academic Integrity and help my fellow students understand the importance of Academic Integrity – i.e., why Academic Integrity is important beyond just the fear of being caught, and disciplined, by the university – Academic Integrity is more important than simply this. In doing so, I hope to aid in the Academic Integrity of our current and future academics.

I am happy and deeply honoured to be a part of the team! With the advent of LLMs and GenAI, it is essential to spread awareness among the students of what academic integrity in the current timeline represents. Sometimes, students need help adapting to the new education system if they are an international student. Being a part of the Academic Integrity team, I will be able to help my peers with adapting to the change. Also, I want to help my fellow peers with time management. When time is managed well, there is no need to hurry and depend totally on GenAI. I believe academic integrity is the first step that reflects the values of a student. I hope to work with the team and help students enjoy learning and navigate assignments and tasks effectively.

Benji Mathew

Benji Mathew,ÌýMaster of Engineering (Electronics),ÌýFaculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology
I am happy to be part of the Academic Integrity Ambassador Program. I believe this position is relevant to my academic positions in Electronics Engineering and to my personal goals and objectives.
As an international student it was difficult for me to meet the academic expectations and comply with the set university rules and because of this reason I was able to resonate with and understand the difficulties that so many students go through in order to achieve their academic goals. I am excited at the opportunity to fill the role of Academic Integrity Ambassador so that I can support other students as a professional and to be able to guide them through their time here at campus.
By supporting students, I plan to offer them the necessary tools and information thereby equipping them to achieve their career objectives with integrity and with most utmost sincerity. It is also my expectation that I will be able to perform the role of a mediator to ensure that good relations are fostered between students and the faculty to ensure that anyone with concerns and queries can feel comfortable to come forward.

I am excited about the opportunity to join the Academic Integrity Ambassador Program Team at the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide. I look forward to collaborating with the team to promote ethical values centered on creativity, innovation, and personal growth, working closely with students to uphold these principles. Additionally, I hope to expand my knowledge of the resources provided by the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog, such as Turnitin and Studiosity, and further deepen my understanding of academic integrity through the program. Furthermore, I am eager to engage with students from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds within our community, fostering meaningful interactions and shared learning experiences.

"Shahzeb, Master of Cybersecurity, Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology
I view integrity as an indispensable ingredient in personal and professional development. I am grateful and proud to serve on this committed academic integrity committee to work with other students and staff, promoting good practice within our university community. In today's competitive landscape, integrity often distinguishes candidates, driving career advancement,Ìýas organisations prioritise trustworthy individuals who can make ethical decisions regardless of the circumstances.
Recognising international students' challenges, including cultural adjustments, language barriers, and high academic expectations, I realise the temptation to misuse AI (artificial intelligence) tools for quick solutions. However, I advocate for their ethical application, guiding students to transition from unintentional missteps to intentional ethical choices. This means teaching proper citation techniques, encouraging critical thinking, and showing them ways to use AI as a learning toolÌýrather than a shortcut.
I believe most academic integrity breaches stem from a lack of guidance in managing stress or overwhelming pressure rather than dishonesty.ÌýAs your Academic Integrity Ambassador, I am committed to helping build a community where ethical decision-making becomes instinctive, with particular emphasis on emerging technologies. This will involve facilitating workshops on appropriate research methods, one-on-one consultations, and working with faculty to incorporate discussions of integrity into the curriculum.

I aim to inspire students to pursue their studies with integrity and achieve success through their hard work and dedication, ultimately contributing to a credible and respected academic community.

I am thankful to be able to be a part of academic integrity at the university as I consider it to be one of the most significant pillars which maintains high standards of our institution such as positive learning environment, culture of honesty and trust and excellence in education and graduate outcomes. This will provide me with an opportunity to support a learning environment where students know that integrity is more than just a set of rules. It is about understanding responsibility as a student, personal development, respecting the work of others and holding ourselvesÌýaccountable for the highest level of ethical standards. My goal is to empower students to take ethical decisions in academic as well as professional life and value the learning process by creating a culture of trust, fairness, authenticity and honesty. As a student myself having been through the challenges and confusions to gain experience, I aim to organise activities and events that provide enough information and services to students so that they are ready to transition through their student journey smoothly and effectively without hassle.
