Extraterrestrial surface simulation lab launches new chapter in space research

Today, Thursday 24 March, the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide launched its new Exterres Laboratory. The lab, which is the first of its kind in ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog, is an off-Earth surface testing environment for space technology like rovers, which are destined for the furthest reaches of the universe.

Students’ rovers face simulated lunar missions

This weekend teams of students from around the country will compete in the second (ARCh) held at the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide. Students will put their lunar rovers which they have designed and built themselves, to the test in a series of missions performed on a re-creation of the surface of the Moon.

Launching women on space careers

The ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide has partnered with Modis Tech Academy and Microsoft ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog in the Tech Start program which aims to support 100 South ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlogn women to kick-start a career in space, defence and technology.

A batch of pills has returned to Earth after a year of being exposed to the environment inside the International Space Station (ISS). ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide researchers will check what the effects of some of the highest levels of radiation found beyond the Earth’s atmosphere have had on the tablets.

Microsoft has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlogn Institute for Machine Learning, to jointly explore how advanced cloud computing, AI, computer vision and machine learning can be applied in space, beyond Earth’s surface.
