鈥淩ather than just preparing for performance exams, this unique event is a fun way for our students to perform some of the fantastic music they鈥檝e been working on."Dr Oliver Fartach-Naini, senior lecturer, the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide.
Now in its fourth year, Guitarathon is a six-hour concert, where students get the opportunity to perform some of their favourite pieces.
Dr Oliver Fartach-Naini said: 鈥淩ather than just preparing for performance exams, this unique event is a fun way for our students to perform some of the fantastic music they鈥檝e been working on.
鈥淚t鈥檚 also a less formal opportunity for the general public to get a taste of what classical guitar has to offer without having to commit to a two-hour attendance or the expense of a concert ticket.
鈥淧eople can come and go as they please with no questions asked. They can grab a bite to eat from food trucks on site or enjoy a glass of wine available for sale in the foyer as they take in a taste of classical guitar.
鈥淭his is an outreach and music initiation project as much as it is a celebration of Adelaide鈥檚 classical guitar community.鈥
The stylistically diverse program includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Johann Kaspar Mertz, Leo Brouwer, Miguel Llobet, Carlo Domeniconi, Philip Houghton, Astor Piazzolla, Bryan Johansson, Isaac Albeniz, Maximo Diego Pujol, James Rawley, Gary Ryan, Alan Thomas, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Fernando Sor and many more.
The non-stop event will culminate in a performance of the Elder Conservatorium Guitar Ensemble featuring the combined talents of Emanuel Auciello, Megan Robson, Connor Whyte, Eduardo Ruiz, Jack Daws, Callum Goodhand, Alexandra Shepherd, Caleb Lavery-Brook, Queenie Li and James Rawley.
Performances will start at 4 pm, with each performance lasting anywhere between 15 to 60 minutes.
The event is proudly sponsored by Kay Brothers Winery and will be live-streamed.
