JMCCCP Presents Bedtime Stories: Writers on writing about the biggest subject of them all

When writer Chloe Hooper’s partner was diagnosed with an aggressive illness, she needed to tell her young sons. In Bedtime Story, she asks whether such news can be broken as a bedtime tale. In his memoir-in-progress, The Cancer Finishing School, writer and doctor Peter Goldsworthy considers his own cancer diagnosis through stories from patients who had been there first. Heather Taylor Johnson guides a conversation with Hooper and Goldsworthy about the biggest subject of them all.

Elder Conservatorium Music Theatre presents a new production of Boubil and Schonberg’s Les Miserables

Prisoner-on-parole, Jean Valjean, runs from Inspector Javert on a journey beyond the barricades, at the centre of the Rebellion. Valjean helps a poor factory worker, Fantine, by saving her child, Cosette, held captive as a slave. Marius, a war veteran, falls in love with Cosette, but their lives change.
