Trigonometry

Structural Geology II involves some calculations that use trigonometry. Trigonometry is the mathematics that describes the relationships between lengths, angles and area in triangles and other shapes. These resources may help you learn or relearn trigonometry.

NOTE: If you have any questions about these, or about any maths that appears while you are studying Structural Geology II, then please visit the Maths Learning Centre and ask one of the tutors.

These mini textbooks from the MLC's old bridging course MathsStart cover trigonometry, with explanations, examples and exercises with answers.

These handouts are a shorter version of the books above that just list the basics with a few questions to try.聽

These handouts list various facts about trigonometry and angles to make it easier to look them up quickly when you need them.
