In the first lecture, David discussed what statistics is used for, the types of questions it can answer, and the information that helps you decide which hypothesis test to use.

In the second lecture, David continued discussion of different statistical procedures, then discussed very rough sample size calculations (since anything more precise is beyond the scope of the MLC's ability to provide).
