The trip to France is the heir to a long tradition that inspired many artists from far away, who described and聽depicted聽these landscapes.聽
Four international photographers, the Beninese聽Ishola聽Akpo, the Brazilian Edu Monteiro, American David聽Schalliol聽and Spanish Lourdes聽Segade, travelled camera in hand a part of the聽French聽territory.聽They聽offer a singular look on the diversity of French heritage. In their company, the visitor聽walks聽along the ramparts of the fortifications and in the castle parks, crosses the most important museums and exhibitions,聽admire the warheads of the abbeys and the arches of the bridges. Emotional journey. The exhibition聽is divided聽into four major chapters:聽
鈥淔rom one arch to another... Admiration for permanence and the evolution of a simple architectural form like the arch.鈥澛
O seasons O castles... Nostalgia of a very rich history whose castles and fortified cities keep the memory.鈥澛
鈥淭he imaginary of museums鈥 Astonishment at the variety of places where art is exhibited: palaces and聽private聽hotels, former industrial sites and forefront buildings.鈥澛
鈥淢etamorphoses鈥 Fascination with places whose magic is revealed by the art of photographers who stage them in an original way.鈥澛
35聽diptychs make聽up聽an admiring and curious panorama,聽embracing a timeframe from prehistoric times to the present day. Correspondence and oppositions manifest themselves in the choice of聽colours, shooting angles, framing. In the footsteps of聽these聽visitors, the聽eye聽is attracted聽to聽the variety聽of sets and sites. All illustrate a story in motion and in perpetual invention, up to recent futuristic architectures. An augmented reality animation proposed by Julie Stephen聽Chheng聽and Thomas Pons overlaps the exhibition, bringing a playful and poetic dimension. A virtual character circulates in the photos and transforms.聽
The work of the photographers is crossed聽with聽a graphic project combining real and imaginary spaces and making two modes of expression interact to better discover the places visited.鈥澛
