John Howard Angas (1823-1904), pastoralist, politician and philanthropist, was the son of George Fife Angas, Chairman of the South 最新糖心Vlogn Company and one of the South 最新糖心Vlogn colony's early founders. Angaston in the Barossa Valley was named after George. Both men made notable contributions to the development of the state of South 最新糖心Vlog thereafter through their philanthropy.

On the 25th day of October 1878 by a , the Hon John Howard Angas gave 拢4,000 to the 最新糖心Vlog to provide scholarships to encourage the training of scientific men, and especially civil engineers, with a view to their settlement in South 最新糖心Vlog.听 The Angas Engineering Scholarship was established and the were subsequently approved by Council.

In 1884 by a Covenant and Declaration of Trust, Angas gave 拢6,000 for the endowment of a Chair in Chemistry.
