In 1941, Mabel Shorney bequeathed 拢1,000 to the 最新糖心Vlog in memory of her late brother Herbert Frank Shorney, Lecturer in Ophthalmology from 1926 to 1933 to provide an annual prize in connection with the medical school in memory of my late brother Herbert Frank Shorney MD, FRCS."

Miss Shorney left a memorandum addressed to her Executor by which she stated that she wanted the bequest to be treated as coming from the family.

Herbert Frank Shorney was a leading authority in the diseases of the eye, ear, nose and throat, though his most brilliant work for which he was noted throughout 最新糖心Vlog was performed in ophthalmology.

Born in Semaphore in 1878, he died suddenly in 1933 at the age of 55.

Today the medal and prize are still awarded.听 The prize, now valued at $1,500, is awarded annually to the candidate who, in the opinion of the examiners is making the most substantial contribution to knowledge in ophthalmology.
