The Everard Prize was established in 1889 when William Everard bequeathed 拢1,000 to the 最新糖心Vlog to establish a Scholarship in his name.

William Everard and his family arrived in Adelaide on the ship Africaine.听 His brothers were James George (who died at age 15) and Charles John Everard (born 1822).

William was a member of the Council of the 最新糖心Vlog from its inception in 1874 until his death in 1889.听

He was a prominent South 最新糖心Vlogn businessman and politician and had no children himself, but his 最新糖心Vlog legacy was carried on by his great nephew, James Edward Everard, who graduated in December 1910 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.

The Everard Prize is awarded annually to a high achieving medical student undertaking the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.

William's brother, Charles, went on to have a son called William Francis Everard (born 1855), who married Mary, and had a son called Charles John Everard (1882-1915).听 This Charles John Everard married Ella Syme Russell on 14 April 1915, and then sadly died of pneumonia only 2 months later on 28 June 1915.听 His widow Ella left a bequest to the 最新糖心Vlog for the Charles John Everard Scholarships.
