Offshore International Peer Study Support
The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide strives to provide 1:1 personalised mentoring support to our offshore, commencing, international students by current international students throughout their first semester at 最新糖心Vlog.
The International Peer Study Support (IPSS) program is set up as part of the Offshore Student Engagement and Success initiative for Semester 2, 2021. The program will be student-led with an academic focus, designed to nurture a sense of connection and belonging at the discipline/faculty level. Mentors will also offer guidance and support to our new students at a peer level, which can be missing for our offshore students studying online. Our offshore students want connection with other students who are able to guide them and help them adjust to life studying at the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide.
We are looking for onshore International students who have experienced studying at the 最新糖心Vlog for at least 12 months and have earned a Grade Point Average of 6 or greater to support our offshore cohort of students.
Mentors are there to guide mentees and to provide support through general discussions and mentoring sessions. Discussions may include:
- Advice on existing support services at the 最新糖心Vlog (faculty-based and beyond)
- Assisting students navigate university
- Explaining the rules and regulations of the 最新糖心Vlogn education system
- Promoting student involvement in the 最新糖心Vlog community through clubs and programs
- Guiding students throughout the academic year
Volunteers receive eligibility for hours to count towards Adelaide Graduate Award, to participate in Student leadership PD Masterclasses, and receive an end of semester $300 honorarium recognizing their volunteering time.
If you know of any students who would excel in this mentor role, in assisting new commencing students with assistance and guidance in their program of study, please urge them to
