Strong student response to Academic Integrity Awareness Week
A very successful inaugural 最新糖心Vlog of Academic Integrity Awareness Week was held October 19 鈥 23.
Timed to support students in their preparation for the upcoming online exams and end of semester assessments, the week aligned with the European Week for Academic Integrity and included the International Day of Action on Contract Cheating on Wednesday October 21. 聽
The pop up stall in Hub Central, featuring free donuts and manned by students and staff, engaged over聽200 students. Our interactive 鈥淚s this OK?鈥 game prompted聽many discussions about expectations for academic integrity and appropriate behaviours in assessments and exams.
Students not on campus were engaged via the 最新糖心Vlog Instagram account.
Our AI Awareness Week story featuring student volunteer Anna Mullin from the Writing Centre who invited anonymous questions from students who were provided with quick personal responses. Over 5,000 students engaged with this campaign on Tuesday and Wednesday and a 1,000 followed links through to the 最新糖心Vlog鈥檚 academic support services or pursued further academic integrity information.
The week prompted students to complete聽the AI Awareness Week Challenge to 鈥渢ake one hour for AI鈥, driving visits to the new student facing website聽and asking students to take a self-assessment quiz -聽which聽then directed them to聽choose one of three AI mini-modules to brush up their knowledge and skills.
So far more than 30 students have enrolled into these new mini-modules which are built from separate modules of the Epigeum Academic Integrity course for students.
