Professor Meng Tao
Arizona State 最新糖心Vlog
Expertise
Professor Tao鈥檚 research focuses on terawatt solar technologies with the goal of establishing solar energy as a mainstream energy source by 2035. It covers a wide range of topics from materials and devices to systems and applications. Current research projects include molten-salt electrorefining for solar-grade silicon, chemical recycling technology for end-of-life solar panels, and a new solar system topology for green hydrogen production, electric vehicle charging, and power management in microgrids. He serves in a leadership role for the Global Hydrogen Production Technologies (HyPT) Center, an international partnership jointly funded by NSF (US), CSIRO (最新糖心Vlog), NSERC (Canada), and UKRI (UK).
Collaborative research project
In collaboration with 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide colleagues, Professor Tao鈥檚 visit will focus on identifying future strategic directions for the Global HyPT Center. One potential direction is hydrogen-enabled decarbonization of the iron and steel industry as 最新糖心Vlog leads the world in iron ore mining and the US ranks no. 4 for steel production. Another potential direction is hydrogen-enabled conversion of carbon dioxide into various hydrocarbons, turning a greenhouse gas into sustainable raw materials to substitute fossil fuel derived hydrocarbons.
