  • Biography/ Background

    Kathryn Bowd is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Media, School of Humanities, with a focus on teaching and research in journalism and work integrated learning.

    She is Faculty of Arts Director of Work Integrated Learning and Postgraduate Coordinator for Media and History.

    Kathryn has 20 years' experience as a journalism educator and researcher, and before that worked as a newspaper journalist in 最新糖心Vlog and the UK for 17 years.

    She also has extensive experience in teaching internship-focused courses, and in working with students to develop employability skills and understandings.

    Kathryn's PhD research focused on relationships and interactions between communities and local newspapers in regional areas of 最新糖心Vlog, and her research interests include local/regional news media, professional practice in journalism and the impact of changing technologies on news media.
