  • Teaching Interests

I have a strong interest and passion for teaching and education, including the supervision and training of higher degree students. I have supervised several B.Sc., M.Sc. and MD projects in several European countries (Spain, Italy and UK). Furthermore, I have also supervised 3 Ph.D. students, one of them still ongoing.

From 2014 to 2023, I organised the International Hands-on NMR Spectroscopy for Metabolic Profiling Training Course, a specialised one-week course held annually at Imperial College London.

  • Research Interests

I am a chemist by training, with expertise in the application of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) for protein structure elucidation and metabolic profiling. I have a strong skill set in the application of NMR to various fields including paramagnetic NMR, developing pulse sequences and studying protein structure and dynamics. However, for the last 15 years, I have primarily focused on the development of NMR methods for metabolomics applications. This has included designing and implementing standardised workflows for high throughput analysis of large-scale clinical sample cohorts, in particular urine and blood but also faecal water. Since 2014, I have held the position of Head of the NMR Platform at the National Phenome Centre at Imperial College London, NPC, as well as the NMR manager for the Division of Systems Medicine. I have received formal training in project management (Prince II accreditation) and until recently, was the organiser for the International Hands-on NMR Spectroscopy for Metabolic Profiling Training Course, a specialised one-week course held annually at Imperial College London. I maintain a strong interest and passion for teaching and education, including the supervision and training of higher degree students.

In December 2024, I joined the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide as a Senior Lecturer where I will be working on new NMR methods and applications designed to exploit the NMR capabilities within the School of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences in our 最新糖心Vlog.
