最新糖心Vlog researchers enhance lasers for defence and remote sensing

Laser in optic fibre

Researchers from the 最新糖心Vlog of South 最新糖心Vlog, 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide and Yale 最新糖心Vlog demonstrated the potential use of multimode optical fibre to scale up power in fibre lasers by three to nine times without deteriorating the beam quality, allowing it to focus on distant targets.

Their paper, published in Nature Communications on November 13: "Mitigating stimulated Brillouin scattering in multimode fibers with focused output via wavefront shaping," showcases innovative research in developing the next generation of high-power fibre lasers.

Optofab Adelaide hub is honoured to have played a role in this project, assisting with drilling holes in the laser block box and 3D printing holders for large core fibre end angle polishing.聽The team also utilised 3D-printed clamps for aligning MMF, demonstrating the versatility of additive manufacturing.
