This HELLO webinar will examine the intersections of housing and health inequities. We will be joined by Professor Emma Baker and Dr Amy Clair from the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlogn Centre for Housing Research, ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide, and Bernie Barret from Better Renting, a community and advocacy organisation for renters. Speakers will explore evidence on how housing impacts health, and the policy and advocacy landscape responding to the inequalities in housing affordability and housing conditions in ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog.
Emma Baker is Director of the ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlogn Centre for Housing Research and Deputy Director of the NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence in Healthy Housing. Emma’s work examines the health and human impacts of housing and location in urban and regional environments.
Amy Clair is Deputy Director of ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlogn Centre for Housing Research, ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide and Research Associate, ESRC Research Centre on Micro-Social Change, ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Essex. Her work focuses on the many ways that housing influences health and mental health across ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog, Europe and the UK.
Bernie Barret is Better Renting's Deputy Director. She has a background in consumer and lived experience advocacy and leadership. She most recently worked with peak bodies across health, mental health lived experience, and LGBTQIA+ advocacy in South ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog.
The Health Equity Learning Lab Oz (HELLO) is organised by Stretton Health Equity, ×îÐÂÌÇÐÄVlog of Adelaide, as part of the National Health and Medical Research Council funded ‘Restoring the Fair Go’ research initiative to bring together civil society, public servants, policy makers, and academics who seek to achieve policy change for a healthier and more equitable society.
