Classical guitar students from the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide's Elder Conservatorium of Music will present a diverse program of solo and chamber music as part of this year鈥檚 Guitarathon.
Under the direction of senior lecturer Dr Oliver Fartach-Naini undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as up-and-coming students from the Elder Conservatorium鈥檚 Open Music Academy and the South 最新糖心Vlogn Youth Guitar Ensemble (SAYGE), will perform in Elder Hall on Sunday 5 November as part of this year鈥檚 Guitarathon.
Now in its sixth year, Guitarathon is a free concert packed with gems of the classical guitar鈥檚 rich repertoire.聽
Dr Oliver Fartach-Naini said: 鈥淭his is a great way for people to get a taste of what classical guitar has to offer, without having to commit to a timeframe or even paying for a ticket. People can come and go as they please, with sausages and Kay Brothers wines available to purchase.
鈥淲ith the Open Music Academy and the South 最新糖心Vlogn Youth Guitar Ensemble (SAYGE) onboard as well this is a celebration of the Adelaide鈥檚 thriving classical guitar community.鈥
The stylistically diverse program includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Mauro Giuliani, Johann Kaspar Mertz, Fernando Sor, Luigi Legnani, Nigel Westlake, Francisco Tarrega, Jaime Zenamon, Philip Houghton, Enrique Granados, M谩ximo Diego Pujol, James Rawley, Caleb Lavery-Brook, Anne Cawrse and many more.
The non-stop event will also include a performance of the Elder Conservatorium Guitar Ensemble featuring the combined talents of Emanuel Auciello, Alex Clayton, Marcus Howard, Aimee Wilson, Megan Robson, Kurenai Nishioka, Jack Daws, Caleb Lavery-Brook, Queenie Li, Alyssa Verbart, Trevor Morgan, Thomas Pignetti, Ari Michael-Roubos, and James Rawley.
Performances will start at 12 pm, with each performance lasting anywhere between 15 to 30 minutes.
