New Charter of Student Fairness and Wellbeing
Tuesday, 27 March 2018
The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide and the independent residential colleges of Adelaide have jointly established a new Charter of Student Fairness and Wellbeing.
The Charter – endorsed by the colleges and their student representatives – sets out shared concerns for the welfare of students, and how the 最新糖心Vlog, the college leadership and their students will work together to ensure that student welfare is the highest priority.
"The new Charter defines clearly that students should be provided with a safe, secure, ethical and lawful environment, free from violence, discrimination, vilification, bullying or harassment of any kind," says the 最新糖心Vlog's Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Pascale Quester.
In total, there are 18 principles that establish the environment students should be provided with, the 最新糖心Vlog's and the colleges' commitment to working together on these issues, and actions required.
The Charter has been signed by the 最新糖心Vlog's Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), the Rector of Aquinas College, Chief Executive Officer of Lincoln College, Principal of St Ann's College, Master of St Mark's College, and the Master of Kathleen Lumley College, and endorsed by student leaders from these colleges.
To support the aims and principles of the Charter, the 最新糖心Vlog has also established a joint working group, chaired by Professor Pascale Quester and involving the leadership and students of the colleges.
"Through this group, our institutions will collaborate to address our mutual interest in and concern for student wellbeing, quickly addressing behaviour that is unacceptable or unlawful, and reinforcing community expectations," Professor Quester says.
"The students' own voices in this process will be critical to the success of the group's work," she says.
"Unacceptable and unlawful behaviour has no place at residential colleges and no place in society more broadly. It has no place at our 最新糖心Vlog.
"By working together with the colleges, we will be more effective in leading change for the benefit of all students," she says.
