Guitar students to perform six-hour "Guitarathon"

Monday, 23 October 2017

Classical guitar students from the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide's will embark on a free six-hour performance marathon – a "Guitarathon" – in Elder Hall on Sunday 5 November.

Under the direction of lecturer Oliver Fartach-Naini, 12 students will perform a stylistically diverse program of solo and chamber music, including works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Richard Charlton, Matteo Carcassi, Leo Brouwer, Francisco Tarrega and others.

The event will culminate in a performance featuring the combined talents of the Elder Conservatorium Guitar Ensemble (Renae Attenborough, Emanuel Auciello, Dylan Boller, Jack Daws, Callum Goodhand, Alexandra Herreen, Nabil Humphrey, Caleb Lavery-Brook, Queenie Li, Jonathan Lui, Samuel Miller and James Rawley).

"Our Guitarathon is a unique and fun way for our up-and-coming performers to put on display some of the fantastic music we've been working on this semester," Mr Fartach-Naini says.

"Audiences will be free to wander into Elder Hall throughout the afternoon as they like, sampling some quality guitar music, as well as food and wine, for however long they like – or to stay for the entire event," he says.

Performances will start at midday, with each performance lasting anywhere between 15 to 60 minutes in duration.
