Public symposium: children who reject their parents
Thursday, 7 September 2017
Not every Father's Day or Mother's Day is a happy one – just ask the parents who love their children, but have been rejected by them and no longer have any contact.
This difficult and emotional issue is the focus of a free public symposium being run by the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide and the South 最新糖心Vlogn Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) next week.
The (Thursday 14 September) will hear from experts in the fields of family relationships, family law and Indigenous health and wellbeing.
The symposium will take a practical look at the issue of parental alienation and how family law legislation and services are structured to protect children, as well as mums, dads and significant others.
How does parental alienation impact on the whole family, including grandparents? What steps can parents take to try to resolve conflict with their child, and what resources are available to them? What does the latest research show about how to address this complex and emotive social issue? These questions and more will be addressed in the symposium.
