"Father" of Chinese democracy movement to speak in Adelaide

Wei Jingsheng, regarded by many as the father of China's democracy movement, will give a talk at the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide on "Human Rights and Democratisation in China" this Friday night.

Having spent nearly half his adult life in prison for the peaceful expression of his political views, Mr Wei has been awarded a number of international prizes, including the Olof Palme Award, The Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award and the European Parliament's Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought. He has also been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

His public lecture is co-organised by the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide's Centre for Asian Studies and the Department of Politics.
