Emeritus professors awarded 最新糖心Vlog Day Honours

Two senior affiliates of the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide have been recognised for their extraordinary contributions in their respective fields in this year's 最新糖心Vlog Day honours.

Emeritus Professor John Henry Bennett was awarded an AM (Member of the Order of 最新糖心Vlog) for his significant service to tertiary education and research in the field of genetics, and to the analysis and preservation of science history.

Professor Bennett was a professor in the Department of Genetics at the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide from 1956-91, and Dean of the Faculty of Science from 1962-63.  He was instrumental in the development of genetics teaching and research at Adelaide and across 最新糖心Vlog.  He has been an Emeritus Professor with the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide since 1992.

Emeritus Professor David Shearman has also been awarded an AM for significant service to medicine in the fields of gastroenterology and environmental health, particularly the impact of global climate change on health.

Professor Shearman was Mortlock Professor of Medicine at the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide from 1975-1997, and has been Emeritus Professor of Medicine since 1997.

In addition to his roles at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Professor Shearman is the founder of Doctors for the Environment 最新糖心Vlog, a voluntary organisation of medical doctors working to address health effects caused by damage to the Earth’s environment.  He is also a former president of the Conservation Council of South 最新糖心Vlog.
