The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide is reviving one of its most successful music festivals, the , with an impressive line up of artists and concerts.
The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide Bach Festival originally began in the late 1970s and grew in popularity over the years, running annually from 1980 to 1996.
This year's festival will showcase renowned local and interstate musicians, as well as staff and students from the , in nine unique concerts over three days (Friday 5 September to Sunday 7 September). The concerts will be held in the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide's , on North Terrace.
Concert one: Double Concerto - Friday 5 September, 1.10-2.00pm. Elder Conservatorium Chamber Orchestra, directed by Lachlan Bramble (violin), part of the Lunchtimes at Elder Hall concert series.
Concert two: Bach the Master - Friday 5 September, 6.30pm. Internationally acclaimed Christopher Wrench (organ) will present some of the great Bach masterworks on the Elder Hall's magnificent Casavant Fr猫res pipe organ.
Concert three: Essential Bach - Friday 5 September, 9.15pm. Lucinda Moon (Baroque violin) and John O'Donnell (harpsichord and chamber organ) will perform together for the first time playing rarely heard Bach sonatas.
Concert four: Bach the Students' Star - Saturday 6 September, 11.30am. The students of the Elder Conservatorium of Music will celebrate the music of Bach, with a special introduction by the Conservatorium Brass Ensemble.
Concert five: Bach Sacred and Secular - Saturday 6 September, 3.00pm. Adelaide Barque will explore two sides of the repertoire of Bach, including the fourth Brandenburg Concerto BWV.1049.
Concert six: Bach and Staff - Saturday 6 September, 6.30pm. Opening with a chorale, performed by the Elder Conservatorium's Brass Ensemble, this will be a concert of Bach's timeless vocal and instrumental music.
Concert seven: Bach up Late - Saturday 6 September, 9.15pm. Michelle Nicolle (jazz chanteuse), with the Michelle Nicolle Quartet, will share Bach through the language of jazz.
Concert eight: Keyboard Bach - Sunday 7 September, 11.30am. Mekhla Kumar (Piano), Elder Conservatorium graduate, returns from studies in Germany to present an exciting Bach recital including the French Suite in C minor, from the Anna Magdelena notebook.
Concert nine: Bach and Son - Sunday 7 September, 3.00pm. Ensemble Galante will be joined by guest soprano Tessa Miller for music of Johann Sebastian and his son Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, in the 300th anniversary of his birth.
