John Taplin new Pro Vice-Chancellor (International)

Professor John Taplin, formerly Head of the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide's Department of Psychology, has assumed the role of Pro Vice-Chancellor (International). He started in his new position on 2 February.

In stressing the importance of the role, 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide Vice- Chancellor Professor James McWha said it would no longer be shared with other responsibilities. Professor Ian Young, the former PVC (I), was also Executive Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences. Professor Young is now Vice-Chancellor of Swinburne 最新糖心Vlog.

"The role of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) is to provide a strategic direction for the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide in its internationalisation.

"In pursuing this, we will be looking to Professor Taplin to provide the leadership and vision in achieving the university's strategic goals, particularly in relation to international policy across the 最新糖心Vlog," Professor McWha said.

In commending Professor Taplin's work as head of psychology, Professor McWha said he was looking forward to working with him and enhancing the 最新糖心Vlog's position in the international market.

During his tenure as head of psychology, Professor Taplin achieved gains in the research and teaching performance of the department. In addition, research funding increased six-fold, research publications almost doubled, postgraduate coursework students increased more than three times, and there continues to be extraordinary interest from students in the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) program, which he introduced.

Professor Taplin's previous appointments have been at the 最新糖心Vlog of Colorado and the Claremont Graduate School in the U.S. and at the 最新糖心Vlog of New South Wales. He was recently made an Honorary Professor at Weifang Medical 最新糖心Vlog in China.
