最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide staff have won four of the nine categories at this year's South 最新糖心Vlogn Science Excellence Awards.
Dr Martin Breed, ARC Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the , won the award for PhD Research Excellence in Life or Environmental Sciences.
Dr Breed won the award for his research investigating genetic problems of seeds used in restoration of native woodland; identifying how simple changes to seed collection could increase restoration success rates.
Dr Abbas Zeinijahromi, Lecturer in the , won the award for PhD Research Excellence in the Physical Sciences, Mathematics and Engineering category.
Dr Zeinihahromi's research produced new theories and technologies for the use of low salinity water injection to recover oil - with application in the development of geothermal reservoirs, management of aquifers, fresh water storage and creation of sea-aquifer barriers.
Dr Adam Deane, Senior Lecturer in the and Intensive Care Consultant the Royal Adelaide Hospital, was winner of the Early Career STEM Professional - Health and Life Sciences category.
Dr Deane won the award for his work focusing on the use of a novel hormone to treat hyperglycaemia - a condition that frequently occurs in the critically ill.
Dr Natalie Williamson, First Year Chemistry Co-ordinator, , has won the Early Career STEM Educator of the Year - Tertiary Teaching category.
Dr Williamson enjoys helping students get to the "lightbulb" moment through their own endeavours. She uses a mixture of interactive classroom activities, humour and immediate feedback to engage students in the learning process.
