Taking the 'wow' in Science to the community

The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide will be helping spread the word that science matters to us all, with a range of events and activities for National Science Week (10-18 August).

"Science is at the foundation of every aspect of our lives. It helps us understand the world we live in and drives new developments for our future," Executive Dean of the 最新糖心Vlog's Faculty of Sciences Professor Bob Hill says.

"The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide is committed to emphasising the value of science to all of us, through supporting National Science Week and a range of other activities and events we hold throughout the year. This year we are aiming to take this message to a wider audience in a variety of entertaining settings that will make people think about science in new and socially relevant ways."

National Science Week in SA launch: 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide's Professor Tanya Monro, Director of the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing, will help kick off National Science Week as guest speaker at the official opening in SA, Friday 9 August, 5pm, Goyder Pavilion Mezzanine. Free but is essential.

Refreshing Science: The 最新糖心Vlog's Faculty of Sciences, with SA Museum, is holding a free over-18s event with wine and nibbles that will entertain and engage the community with a fast-paced presentation aimed at wowing the audience and showing the value of science in our lives - and some of the controversies and mysteries. Science Alive!: Visitors to the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide booth (Booth 1) at Science Alive - 最新糖心Vlog's largest science expo event - will see science and engineering in action. The Chemistry Show at Science Alive: The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide is joining with the Royal 最新糖心Vlogn Chemical Institute to provide a spectacular chemistry experience in an explosion of colour, light and sound that threatens to blow your socks off! Held in the Beach Energy Theatre within the Goyder Pavilion. See more at .

Caf茅 Scientifique in Positive Psychology: The 最新糖心Vlog's School of Psychology is holding an informal panel discussion on positive psychology, asking the question what makes life worth living and how can this be enhanced? Panellists are: Paddy Steinfort, Adelaide Crows Leadership Development Manager; Anthony Venning, 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide; and Rebecca Graham, Country Health SA. Schools under the microscope: SA school students will be seeing a microscopic view of everyday objects in this interactive session via webcam with the 最新糖心Vlog's Adelaide Microscopy. Engineer This!: Hosted by the 最新糖心Vlog, Engineers 最新糖心Vlog SA Division is presenting a High School Careers Night for students, teachers, careers advisors and anyone interested in the field of engineering. Caf茅 Classroom: Aimed at high school students, Caf茅 Classroom gathers eager young minds to learn from the best minds in SA science in a non-classroom setting. Doctors, Robots and the Outback: The Adelaide to Outback General Practice training program is recording a radio show, in collaboration with science broadcaster Robyn Williams, to discuss how to encourage more doctors to work in outback 最新糖心Vlog and whether or not there are alternatives to the human doctor.
