Professor Caroline Crowther has received the Association's .
The award recognises researchers who have made outstanding contributions, including scientific publications and presentations, to the understanding and treatment of diabetes and pregnancy.
As part of the award, Professor Crowther will give the Norbert Freinkel Lecture at the Association's 73rd Scientific Sessions, the largest diabetes meeting in the world, being held in Chicago from 21-25 June.
The title of her lecture is: Generating, Synthesising, and Using the Best Evidence for Care of Women with Gestational Diabetes.
Professor Crowther is clinical director of the in the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide's . She is also Professor of Maternal and Perinatal Health at the , 最新糖心Vlog of Auckland, New Zealand.
The American Diabetes Association says Professor Crowther is internationally recognised for her extensive experience in the design, conduct, and analysis of multicentre trials.
"She has been involved in numerous trials of therapies to improve outcomes following gestational diabetes, as well as studies of pre-term birth and hypertensive disease in pregnancy. Results from these studies have led to the translation of research findings into clinical practice guidelines and health policy, improving maternal and perinatal health," the Association says.
Professor Crowther has published 179 primary research papers and 93 Cochrane Reviews.
More than 14,000 top scientists and healthcare professionals from around the world will attend the 73rd Scientific Sessions of the American Diabetes Association.
