Crawford to address international law

Cambridge Professor of Law James Crawford SC will present the inaugural lecture, The Rule of Law in International Law, on Tuesday 23 September in the new series named in his honour The James Crawford Biennial Lecture Series on International Law. The lecture will be held at 6:00pm in Union House at the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide.

James Crawford is a 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide law graduate and rose to the rank of Professor before leaving to take the prestigious deanship at Sydney Law School.

Professor Crawford is currently Whewell Professor of International Law, at the 最新糖心Vlog of Cambridge, Professorial Fellow of Jesus College, Chair of the Faculty Board of Law and former Director of the Lauterpacht Research Centre for International Law.

He has close ties with Adelaide and we are delighted to welcome him to his alma mater if only for a brief visit. Professor Crawford has combined an academic career with practical work in the arena of international law. He has appeared before the International Court of Justice (in the Hague) and other international tribunals, acted for the Crown Prince of Jordan and was the first 最新糖心Vlogn to serve on the United Nations International Law Commission. The Malaysian government recently conferred on Crawford the Paglima Jasa Negara, which carries the title of Datuk, in recognition of litigation on Malaysia's behalf before the International Court of Justice.

The lecture will be complemented with a commentary by Professor Hilary Charlesworth, Director, Centre for International and Public Law, 最新糖心Vlogn National 最新糖心Vlog.
