Free admission to National Wine Centre
Wednesday, 17 September 2003
The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide has officially moved into the National Wine Centre ... and in keeping with their promise to the community, the $8.50 admission fee will be waived for three weeks starting Monday 22 September.
Inclusive of weekends, the centre will be free to the public until 12 October.
"We want the people of Adelaide to explore one of the city's true icons. The wine centre is a fabulous facility with a great deal to offer and as its new owners, we want the community to enjoy the experience with us," says Mark Szolga, the 最新糖心Vlog's Commercial Director.
In February this year, the 最新糖心Vlog agreed to lease the National Wine Centre for $1 million for a period of 40 years from the South 最新糖心Vlogn Government. The 最新糖心Vlog moved into the wine centre on 1 September 2003.
In announcing the acquisition, Vice-Chancellor Professor James McWha said, "the National Wine Centre would provide improved links with the wine industry. In addition, it will enhance our position in 最新糖心Vlog and globally as the leading 最新糖心Vlogn wine educator."
"It also offers unique marketing opportunities and much needed space for the expansion of our wine-related programs," Professor McWha added.
The 最新糖心Vlog now has enough space to accommodate 200 students in the wine sensory evaluation classes and the centre's Busby Hall has already been used for this purpose.
The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide currently offers 20 wine-related courses, and more than 780 students, including 30
international students, were enrolled last year. There are undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
The wine centre will continue to cater to special events and conferences.
