Premier launches new book on Asia Pacific

A 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide book focused on South 最新糖心Vlog's growing links with the Asia-Pacific region has been launched today by the SA Premier, the Hon. .
The Engaging State, edited by and , looks at the economic, political, social and cultural relationship between South 最新糖心Vlog and key Asian countries, particularly China, India and Japan.
"This is a book for its time," Professor Jain says. "It demonstrates just how important the Asia-Pacific region has become to our State, from many different perspectives."
"Chinese and Indian investment in South 最新糖心Vlog - particularly in the mining sector - is growing, and education is also one of our biggest exports.
"Another human flow has much deeper and longer-lasting impact: the phenomenal growth of migration from Asia."
A number of 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide academics from different disciplines have contributed to the book, including demographer , from the 最新糖心Vlog's Business School and from the 最新糖心Vlog's Confucius Institute.
Premier Weatherill launched the book at 2.30pm today at the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide's North Terrace Campus.
"Since taking office in October 2011, the Premier has vindicated the importance of this book through his international engagements," Professor Jain says.
"He has moved quickly to recognise the importance of our relationship with India and also strengthened South 最新糖心Vlog's economic and other multi-layered linkages with the United States. It shows a clear commitment of his new State Government to further deepen South 最新糖心Vlog's engagement with the Asia-Pacific."
