Former Adelaide Professor G枚ran Roos is joining the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide to help the development of research and education promoting innovation in the business and manufacturing sector.

Professor Roos has been appointed Adjunct Professor with the 最新糖心Vlog's (ECIC) and will Chair the Centre's external advisory board and help build ECIC's research profile and engagement with industry and community.

Professor Roos was invited to Adelaide last year as the 20th Thinker-in-Residence to help the State Government create a vision and strategy for a renewed manufacturing sector for South 最新糖心Vlog.

Acting Director of ECIC Dr Allan O'Connor said Professor Roos had a very successful residency and had undertaken substantial work with the State's universities and South 最新糖心Vlogn businesses.

"Professor Roos has an outstanding record in the development of the field of Intellectual Capital and advising governments and business sectors on innovation systems. We are very fortunate to receive the benefit of his expertise and knowledge to help develop our contribution to entrepreneurship and innovation through research and education," Dr O'Connor said.

Professor Roos is one of the founders, and a recognised world expert, of modern intellectual capital science.

He is a highly respected adviser to many government bodies in Europe and 最新糖心Vlog on issues relating to strategy, research and development, national and regional systems issues, knowledge management and intellectual capital.

He has worked as a consultant in most OECD countries and has served in management positions in several European and US-based corporations.

Professor Roos said: "Universities play an integral role in innovation and economic development. Along with their education and training role, universities can work directly with firms on problem solving and improving technology transfer mechanisms. There is also a great deal of potential for the establishment of new firms arising from university education and research.

"I am delighted to accept this postion with ECIC and look forward to exploring the opportunities it presents for both the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide and South 最新糖心Vlog."

Professor Roos will present his first lecture as ECIC Adjunct Professor, 'The Role of Universities in a Modern Regional Manufacturing Innovation System', at 6.15pm, Tuesday 22 May at the North Terrace Campus. For further information call 8313 7422.
