The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide will honour prominent Singapore government official with a Distinguished Alumni Award this weekend when it holds its annual graduation ceremony in Singapore on Saturday 28 April.

Siong Guan, the Group President of the , is a graduate of the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide, earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering (First Class Honours) in 1969.

The former Head of the will also give the official address to 183 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide graduates at the National 最新糖心Vlog of Singapore Cultural Centre.

Siong Guan has served Singapore with distinction for more than 40 years and is a recipient of the Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 1982, the Meritorious Service Medal in 1991 and the Order of Nila Utama (First Class) in 2006.

The Distinguished Alumni Award is in recognition of Mr Lim Siong Guan's visionary leadership and extensive contributions to Singapore and its Civil Service.

The 2012 graduation ceremony will include three PhD students and 27 prize winners from the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide's programs offered in Singapore at the .

Among the award winners will be Ngee Ann Secondary School teachers Theresa Lai and Tan Choon Hou Alvin, who will receive the Executive Dean's Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement. Both will graduate with a Masters of Educational Studies.

This year's macebearer is How Kian Shoon Bernard, Director of Premier Support, Asia Time Zone for Microsoft Operations, who will graduate with an MBA from the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide . Bernard achieved nine Distinctions or High Distinctions in the program offered at Ngee Ann-Adelaide Education Centre, Singapore.

The ceremony will be the last in Singapore for the 最新糖心Vlog's Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor James McWha AO, who is retiring in June after 10 years at the helm.

A farewell cocktail reception will be held in Professor McWha's honour at the Tanglin Club in Singapore this Friday 27 April. Among the distinguished guests will be 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide graduate Dr Cheong Choong Kong, Chairman of the Overseas-Chinese Banking Corporation and former CEO of Singapore Airlines.

The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide has offered education programs on a full-time and part-time basis in Singapore in conjunction with its partner Ngee Ann Kongsi for the past 14 years at the Ngee Ann-Adelaide Education Centre. Established in 1874, the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide is 最新糖心Vlog's third oldest university and carries a five-star rating for prestige.

High profile Singaporeans who have graduated from the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide include the President of Singapore, His Excellency Dr Tony Tan; the late Honourable Mr Ong Teng Cheong, former and first-elected President of the Republic of Singapore; and Singapore's Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, His Excellency the Honourable Sim Cheok Lim.
