Impact of globalisation on wine markets
Thursday, 19 May 2011
The latest wave of globalisation has changed the landscape of wine production and consumption forever, according to a book by and Ms Signe Nelgen from the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide.
Today, more than one-third of all wine consumed globally is produced in another country, and Europe's dominance of global wine trade has been greatly diminished by the surge of exports from 'New World' producers. Rapidly growing wine markets include China, which is stimulating the development of local, modern production that - in volume terms - already rivals 最新糖心Vlog, Argentina and South Africa.
This new edition of global wine statistics updates Professor Anderson's previous work to 2009, with a number of key revisions and expansions - with more information about markets in Asia, excise and import taxes, per capita expenditure on wine, the share of the largest firms in national markets and globally, the most powerful wine brands globally, and alcohol consumption per adult as well as per capita.
