Fringe festivities at the Uni of Adelaide

Festival time is here at the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide with events to be held on campus throughout the festival from Friday 18 February to Sunday 13 March.

最新糖心Vlog staff, students and graduates are also involved in other Adelaide Fringe events across the city.

The events are being held in Elder Hall, the Barr Smith Library, Rumours Cafe and the eResearch SA Visualisation Laboratory, and Urrbrae House at Waite Campus.

They range from music concerts, a "mediaeval celebration", poetry readings, a photographic exhibition and a 3D tour of the solar system.

The Adelaide 最新糖心Vlog Fringe Club is also presenting two shows this year - 'Over My Dead Body' and a brand new production of 'The Importance of Being Earnest'.

Comedian and 最新糖心Vlog graduate Ben Darsow is giving new students a taste for the funnier side of 最新糖心Vlog life at their official Orientation Week welcome this Monday 21 February. Darsow has a busy Fringe schedule of his solo show 'No such thing as normal' and a mixed artist standup comedy show 'The Fringe Comes to Elizabeth'.

最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide music students Julia Stevens, Chris Lian-Lloyd and Anna Coleman - in their group M茅nage 脿 Trio - are performing their show 'Contrasts' at the Fringe as part of a Trans-Tasman Tour with two weeks in New Zealand.

And as part of the 2011 Adelaide Film Festival, 最新糖心Vlog Senior Lecturer and composer/pianist Stephen Whittington will perform 'The Music of Light', presented by Recitals 最新糖心Vlog.

Adelaide Fringe and Adelaide Film Festival events include:

A Mediaeval Celebration by Lumina Vocal Ensemble: singers, dancers and instrumentalists performing music of the Middle Ages at the Barr Smith Library Reading Room (6 March at 3pm) and Urrbrae House (27 February at 3pm);

Durufl茅 Requiem by Adelaide Philharmonia Chorus: a beautiful and well-loved choral work including soprano 最新糖心Vlog graduate Greta Bradman at Elder Hall (13 March at 2.30pm);

Experiment of Elegance - Fire and Glass (Series II) by Kym Robertson: a free solo photographic exhibition exploring the beauty of fire and the elegance of glass in Rumours Cafe, Union House (21-25, 28 February, 1-4 March 9am-6pm, Opening on 21 February at 7-9pm);

Hwomely Rhymes by Tom Burton and The Chaucer Studio: 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide English Professor Tom Burton brings to life selected poems from William Barnes' second collection of Poems of Rural Life in the Dorset Dialect, a one-hour reading in the Barr Smith Library Ira Raymond Room (12 March at 2pm and 8,10 March at 6pm);

The journey home: an interplanetary guide to the solar system in 3D by eResearchSA: an animated and interactive 3D tour of the solar system in the Visualisation Lab, Physics Building (21,23 February and 1,3, 8-9 March at 11am, 25 February and 2,10 March at 1pm);

Wind Energy by Joshua Tree Music: some of 最新糖心Vlog's finest wind players perform with composer/pianist/sustainability advocate Kristofer Spike at Elder Hall (20 February at 4pm);

Contrasts by M茅nage 脿 Trio: M茅nage 脿 Trio was established in 2008 by clarinettist Anna Coleman as, initially, an ensemble for her 最新糖心Vlog project. This year Anna and fellow students Julia Stevens (violin) and Chris Lian-Lloyd (piano) take the brand new production featuring works by Bartok, Ives and Scholenfield to New Zealand as well as the Adelaide Fringe. (The Jade Monkey, 24, 25 February at 6pm and 26 February at 5pm);

No such thing as normal by Ben Darsow: 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide graduate and standup comedian Ben Darsow is hanging onto the last of his hair and his 20s to deliver his award-winning comedy at Sugar (most days of the Fringe at 7.30pm) and at the Dog and Duck (22 February and 1,8 March at 7.30pm). He also takes part in 'The Fringe Comes to Elizabeth' (Elizabeth Downs Soccer Club, 27 February at 4pm).

Over my dead body by Adelaide 最新糖心Vlog Fringe Club: a comedy-thriller where the last great English murder-mystery novelists take a unique approach to reviving interest in the genre at Sandford House (5,12 March at 2pm, 4-6 and 10-12 March at 7pm);

The importance of being earnest by Adelaide 最新糖心Vlog Fringe Club: a brand new production of Oscar Wilde's seminal work at Flinders Street Baptist Church (25-27 February at 7pm).

The music of light by the 2011 Big Pond Adelaide Film Festival and Recitals 最新糖心Vlog: a program of films of the American film artist Stan Brakhage with the music that inspired him, performed by 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide Senior Lecturer and composer/pianist Stephen Whittington, who knew Brakhage and composed some of the music. To be held at Radford Auditorium, Art Gallery of SA (27 February 1pm and 3pm).
