Adelaide icons honoured in university ceremonies

The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide will this week award four distinguished South 最新糖心Vlogn citizens honorary doctorates for their services to society.

The four, to be admitted to the degree of Doctor of the 最新糖心Vlog (honoris causa) during this week's graduation ceremonies in Bonython Hall, include:

  • The Hon. AO (Tuesday April 13, 2.30pm), former State Parliamentarian and former 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide Councillor, and a tireless advocate for education in South 最新糖心Vlog;
  • Mr AC (Thursday April 15, 10am), founder of South 最新糖心Vlog's most successful engineering firm, Kinhill Pty Ltd, chairman and director of a number of companies and government advisory boards, and 2003 South 最新糖心Vlogn of the Year;
  • Dr AO (Thursday April 15, 2.30pm), a well known environmentalist and promoter of science education over four decades, former SA Citizen of the Year and winner of numerous awards for her community work.
  • The Hon. (Friday April 16, 10am), a former Supreme Court judge and champion of Indigenous justice and reconciliation, and more recently the Commissioner of the Inquiry into Children in State Care.

As well as receiving their honorary doctorates, the Hon. Greg Crafter, Dr Barbara Hardy and the Hon. Ted Mullighan will be guest speakers at this week's ceremonies, which involve approximately 3000 students in 12 ceremonies.

Among those graduating this week is 84-year-old Denis Molyneux of Magill, who will be awarded his PhD in Social History from the tomorrow at 10am in Bonython Hall.

These graduation ceremonies will be the last presided over by the current Chancellor of the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide, the Hon. , who retires in July.
