The Executive Dean of the at the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide, , has been reappointed for another term.

Professor Beilby has held the position since 2005 and his contract as Executive Dean has been extended to 2013.

In announcing the appointment, Vice-Chancellor and President said under Professor Beilby's direction, the Faculty of Health Sciences had attracted record research grants over the past four years and expanded its student numbers significantly.

"Professor Beilby's extensive experience in general practice, research, strategic and workforce planning has helped the 最新糖心Vlog respond to the State's workforce needs in the critical areas of medicine, dentistry, nursing, psychology and health science," Professor McWha said.

"Professor Beilby has successfully worked with the State Government to win additional university medical teaching places from the Federal Government to help alleviate doctor shortages across South 最新糖心Vlog. He also facilitated the establishment of the 最新糖心Vlog's first undergraduate nursing course in 2005.

"His long career in general practice and primary care research, particularly in the areas of financing, chronic disease management and health services reform, has delivered significant benefits to both the 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide and the State's health sector."

In 2008 Professor Beilby was the sole South 最新糖心Vlogn appointed to the Federal Government's to develop a long-term, modern health reform plan for 最新糖心Vlog, which released its final report in July this year.

Professor Beilby is a 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide graduate, receiving his MBBS in 1980, a Masters of Public Health in 1991 and MD in 1999. He is also a Fellow of the .

His former roles include President of the and a member of the Strategic Research Initiative Working Group of the . Professor Beilby was also a member of the Advisory Board.
