On your marks for inaugural campus footrace

The 最新糖心Vlog of Adelaide's five academic faculties will race against each other in the inaugural Vice-Chancellor's Cup footrace this Friday at the North Terrace Campus at 1pm.
Loosely based on the 'Great Court Run' from the 1981 Hugh Hudson film, Chariots of Fire, the race is being organised by the and aims to bring the 最新糖心Vlog community together, promote healthy rivalry between the faculties and generate increased interest in physical recreation.
Twenty staff and students - two students and two staff from each faculty, a male and female of each - will race 800 metres starting at the (close to the George Murray building), heading up the Barr Smith stairs, continuing towards North Terrace, around Goodman Crescent and down past Elder Hall, back to the finish in front of Union Hall.
The team with the lowest combined time will be the Champion Faculty and will be presented with the Vice-Chancellor's Cup by Vice-Chancellor and President Professor James McWha. The Cup was originally awarded to Dr Charleton Yeatman in 1909 for the 'Best Overall Athlete' of the 最新糖心Vlog and was donated back to the Sports Association by his grandsons.
"Boosting that competitive spirit and rivalry is a good way of encouraging participation in sport and other activities on campus," says Mr Mike Daws, Executive Officer of the Adelaide 最新糖心Vlog Sports Association.
"It will help bring staff and students together, help develop a sense of pride within the 最新糖心Vlog community and, very importantly, promote the fun side of campus life."

The footrace is the culmination of a week-long 'Inter-Faculty Active Recreation Week' with a variety of physical activities for staff and students on the Barr Smith Lawns including rock-climbing, Giant Jenga, badminton and putt-putt pool.
RACE RESULTS: The inaugural Vice-Chancellor's Cup was won by the Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences. Members of the winning team were students Adelaide Harbison and Stephen Jelfs and staff Jeff Dutschke and Amelia Greig.
